The world would be a better place if we were all vegetarians.

   In my opinion it is rather controversial statement for a lot of people because most of us are used to meat.
   But personally I can find some benefits if everyone went vegetarian. 

   Firstly, One thing that would happen is there would be less animal cruelty. Animals everyday would not be beaten to death.    Secondly, some people would become less violent (especially the ones who kill animals for money), and people everyday would not have to face the horrible truth of animal cruelty.    In addition, since there are no longer jobs for killing helpless animals, we would be able to focus on more important areas like economics and health.
  In conclusion, if everyone was a vegetarian, the world would be more peaceful: less war, higher population, less violence, cleaner planet, more animals, increase in natural environment and so on. The world would in fact be a better place to live in.

Person who has had a positive effect on me.

   Everyone has at least one person that they hold close to their heart for the positive influence they had.
In my opinion, the most positive effect on me has had my grandmother. She started enriching my life from the childhood.
   Her name is Ina and she is mother of my mother. All the 18 years she lives next door to my family on the same flour. I think, the whole family cannot imagine life without her.
   She is really strong, smart lady that takes care of herself and can give advice and just help everybody who need it.
   My grandmother used to play with me all day when I was a child and did not care if I made a mess as did not want to make me feel unwelcome. She sew little dolls and let me play with them and dress them up.
   I am so proud of her. My granny is unique. She is probably the strongest, most capable woman I have ever known.
   She is really very necessary for me. She taught me how to behave in different complicated situations,  to live each day to the fullest, and to not harbor bitterness for the things that happen to me. I think, she is the only person who accepts me for who I am with all my faults. She helped me to believe into myself and into my opportunities.
   I admire and thank her having a positive effect on me. I love my grandmother!

unrequited love

   He put down the phone and began to cry. It was difficult to believe in.
   It started in winter. It was New Year's Eve. Group of friends met to celebrate the holiday, but She did not have any mood. She was waiting for something special. The girl went to the window and wrote there "I love you". But as we know, nothing happens just like that. She returned to the living room, were the party was. But she did not have any wish to dance or drink. She came back to the bedroom. When the girl came she saw him standing infront of her. She looked at the window and under her words was written "me too". Tears were coming down her cheeks. That was her wish for the New Year. He was smiling. That was the best night in her life as they spent it together.

   Next day she was very happy and wanted to tell about all what happened this night to her best friend. After her long speech she hoped that friend will be happy for her. But she did not expect such kind of answer. She was told that this all what has happened the previous night was just a chaffer between the boys. They wanted to verify, if she will agree to conduct the night with this boy or she will deny his offer.
   In a few seconds after this answer the girl ran out of the house. She could not see anything what was happening around her, as it hurt inside. Because of this she was ran over by the car. She died.
   Her friend called him to tell what happened. And said that it was a kind of revenge.
As he had to love her (this friend).

 

The goals of your life

   Thing that you absolutely must do if you wish to fulfill your potential as human being is goal achieving. Goals help people to do the work they want to do, to live where they want to live, to be with the people they enjoy, and to become the kind of person they want to be. But many people do not set goals because they are afraid they could fail.
   There are many goals in my life that I would like to achieve. As I am 18 years old I have already planned out a lot. And I am trying to follow my targets.
   The most important goal I have is to finish school with high marks and to pass my exams successfully. I understand how significant is this purpose for me, it will give an opportunity to get into the university of my choice. If I fail to complete this aim I will have to apply to less prestigious high schools, which will not be the best for my future career and personal goals.
   A good job that will make me happy and that will bring enough money for me to support my family and help people is also one of my targets.
   Finally, the happiness in what I am doing is really substantial purpose. There is no way to become successful if you are not happy with what you are engaged in.
   I believe that it is easier to be satisfied with your life when you are working hard toward my goals. And I will try.

What could be the advantages and disadvantages of chat room in the Internet.

Chat rooms in the Internet are very popular nowadays. You can have one-on-one chatting and you can also have group discussions, using a forum. However, you can find advantages and disadvantages to having Internet chat rooms.
The disadvantages of Internet chat rooms are well known. And it is important to remember about them so that you do not fall victim to predators who would seek to harm you.
Internet users should try not to provide strangers with personal information. To read the rules and regulations before using chat rooms is very important too, especially if you have children. There is a lot of necessary information in the Internet.
If we start speaking about the advantages of using Internet chat rooms we could match that they allow us to communicate with different people from all over the world, who share similar interests and hobbies. Internet chats can also be a great learning center. For example, people can ask questions and receive answers on themes they are interested in.
Finally, Internet chat rooms are websites where users can freely communicate with people they want in real time. Chat rooms can be a fun way to speak with friends and just people with similar interests, but they can also be one of the most dangerous places to go on the Internet, especially for children.

Roman Colosseum

   The place that I visited this spring is cold the Colosseum. One of the wonders of the world, which is still very well-preserved and, of course, visited by million of tourists.
   It is situated in Rome, which is one of the most ancient place, connected with the history of the country and the world.
   The history of the place is closely connected with Yulius Caesor, the time, when the Roman Impire was very powerful and conquered many cities and countries of the world.
   While stepping I was trying to imagine fights, gladiators, ranging animals. The guide was speaking about the free games, the emperors used the Colosseum to entertain the publik with. Those games were a symbol of prestige and power and they were a way for an emperor to increase his popularity. Games were started with comical acts and displays of animals and ended with fights to the death between animals and gladiators. The fighters were usually slaves, prisoners of war or condemned criminals.
   I was looking at the Colosseum and thinking how beautiful, magnificent it is. It could house so many people!
In spite of being so old, it is really great and keeps a lot of history inside.
   During the ages it was being distroyed, but now people started to care about the Colosseum as a monument of power and history and the fury of the crowd.
   The Colosseum should be a must place to be visited by tourists who come to Rome. As this place is connected with the most remarcable time of the Roman Impare.
   Though it is in ruins, we can feel the atmosphere af this times and inequality of people living side by side with most prominent liders.

English homework "Internet chatrooms do not serve a useful purpose"

Nowdays we cannot imagine our life without using the Internet. We use it everywhere: for work, for getting information and for interactiv communication. The most popular way for it is using chatrooms. But they have as good as negative points.
Firstly, chatrooms sre very useful and positive for communicating with people from different parts of the world. We easily make friends and exchange the information. It is known that as a rule young people express their options and discuss the topics which bother them with the people of the common interests. Usually they get support or give some advice.
On the other hand, while surfing the Internet and sitting infront of the computer, people do not have face to face communication with each other, which, I think, is more assention for everydays life. Instead of chatting with the person who lives next door to you, why not knock at the door of your neighbour and offer to go out. In reality it is obvious to sociolise with real people that with virtual ones.In this case we get not only support and advice, but compassion and love.
All in all, it can be said that we ao not have to waste the time in chatrooms. it could be better if we communicated face to face with people. That is why chatrooms do not surve useful puprose.

   The book "The body in the library" written by a famous detective writer Agatha Christie, describes investigating a crime committed in the library of the fictional English village of St. Mary Mead. 
   The plot of the book tells about the suspect Colonel Bantry and the gossip in the small village, exaggerating details of the crime as the body is found naked. Mrs Bantry, the wife of the suspect, invites Miss Marple to help the Chief Constable of the police to look into the crime. The victim turns out to be a dancer of the Majestic Hotel, where a lot of strange guests stay, such as Yefferson and Ruby Keene.
   The situation becomes more complicated when another body is found in a burnt-out car. In the end the true killers, who appeared to be Yosie Turner and Mark Gaskell are found and the reason for murders is also discovered by Miss Marple.
   The book is exciting, showing the curious and sociable personality of theamateur sleuth. The plot of the book is rather deep and intriguing. The main characters of the book are depicted in an interesting way.
   In conclusion it should be said that "The body in the library" is worth reading. It can be recommended to the people, who like detectives, those people, who are interested in the British way of inhenitance, which can become the cause of murder.

Stress at school (homework for 25.01.12)

Dear Mr. Teplov,

I am writhing to tell you about the stress most of students from our school have.

First of all, the time school starts. Researches show that our brain could not work good enough at 8 o'clock in the morning. It would be much better to have the first lesson at least at 9 o'clock, to understand the subject teachers are explaining. We need enough time to sleep in the morning.

Secondly, homework. After school day we always need some rest, but as we have so much homework, we have to do it immediately. Because of being tired we have more trouble in learning and remembering. As a result we perform more poorly in many areas. May be it would be better not to give us homework for holidays and weekends, to give us an opportunity to enjoy our free time and relax before a new school week or term.

Finally, physical education. Our body gets stressed while we are sitting 6-8 lessons at school. Now I am in the 11th form and we have no physical education in our timetable. In my opinion it would give us power, if we had such kind of lesson in the middle of the day.

I hope, you will understand me and other students and try to solve at least some of these problems, which make our life more stressful.

The younger generation knows best (homework for 11.01.12)

Some people still think that knowledge depends on the age: when we are getting older, we get more and more experience. But in my opinion the old has lots to learn from the young.

     First, the young people are better educated. Nowadays it is a must for the younger generation - to study for at least 9 years at school. Also, the young generation is more broad-minded because today we have more freedom. 

     Second, most of the young people want change in order to make the world better. 

     Third, the world needs a generation who can make the world a better place through their great ideas and creativity. We have many new ideas and are often held back by the old who cannot think of new things as possibly good ideas.

     It is the task for the younger generations to make it comes true because they know the best.

Usual day of a reporter (homework for 10.01.2012)

     It started like any other day. It was usual sunny beautiful morning. Man, his name was David, woke up, prepared breakfast and drove to his favourite work, he was a reporter. David was in a hurry, because he was always late.

    A tall and very good-looking girl run to cross the street but fortunately the man noticed her at the last moment. Being an attentive person he was very upset and emmidiatly decided to bring her to hospital in order to check whether she had some injuries. David was happy to know that the pedestrian had minor injuries.They got acquainted and started talking.
    To his surprise David noticed that he had the feeling that he had known this girl all his life. They had a lot in common. They had the same interests in music and both of them had wide outlook. His new friend worked as an editor of a magazine. Except all this she was rather pretty and humorous.
    Now, when they have been married for 15 years. David cannot imagine how he did not meet her on his usual day while going to work before!

   Of course, every parent is skared their child will live abroad and they will never see him or her again. But you just have to give them to understand, that they will not lose you.
   First of all, you should try to talk to your parents or may be show them that you are serious about Gloria. Six mouth is a long period. Moreover you have to explain your feelings to your parents and ask them to try to accept your girlfriend. I think, It would be a great idea to introduce Gloria to your parents. Give them a chance to get to know her. If I were you, I would make a family evening. I would recomend you to start with words, that you understand their opinion and want them to understand yours. I hope my advise will hepl you!

Ma elan korteris, mis asub kesklinnas, Jahu tänavas. See on väga mugav, sellepärast et kõik on väga lähedal. Viru Keskusesse minek võtab aega 15 minutit. Minu meelest see on kõige suurem pluss. Aga see ei ole ainuke asi, mis minule meeldib. Minu elukoha positiivne külg on ka see, et meil on nagu oma linn siin. Kõik majad on ühesugused, ainul erinevad värvid: kollased, sinised, punased. Naabrid on vaiksed ja sõbralikud, paljud on mitte Eestist, vaid Soomest ja Itaaliast. Siin on meil mänguplats, ilusalong, kohvik, kauplus ja hotell, kus mõni kord elavad meie sõbrad välismaalt. Kahjuks, ma elan esimesel korrusel, see tõttu tihti kuulen millest inimesed räägivad õues ja kuidas karjuvad lapsed. Aga see teeb mugavaks mööbli transportimise. Ja kuna mul on väike õde, kes õhtul armastab hüpata ja tantsida, ei pea meie pere muretsema alumise naabrile häirimise pärast. 0. korrusel on meil garaaž, kus on parkimise kohad meie autodeks. Historically, men were the hunters and women the homemakers. It should stay like that.

     For many thousands of years, men have been thought of as the main "breadwinners" in families because of their strength and power. It has been the job of men to do work that either hunted food, grew food or earned money to pay for food. The women have cared for children, prepared food, cleaned the house and made and cared for clothes. However, it was never the "tradition" itself.
     Today we hear many stories of men successfully achieving in the role of "house husband" while their ladies go out into the world to gather the "bread". А big number of men are comfortable with this position in life and can fulfil it to the same degree of success as their women.
     Nowdays more and more women have good education and are able to earn a lot of money. I think it is connected with their wish to feel independent. In my opinion it is important for each person. Before it was not real for women to earn money, to have a job, to live abroad on her own, but now women can earn much more money than men and have more successful life than her husband.

     I think now it just only depends on personal choice of the person.

Life in ten years time

I do not know what I am going to do tomorrow, so thinking about my life on ten years time for me is more difficult. 

I have imagined: It Is 2021, I am 27, iPhones and Facebook seem as something old-fashioned. But it is not very important to me.

I would like to have a successful future. Generally, I would prefer living in another country, it could be Germany or England, for example. I hope to be married in ten years. Then after I will have at least two kids. May be I will start my own business. Furthermore, I will probably live in a luxury flat, not in a house! I would like to have enough time for my family and friends. I will try my best to be a good mother, wife and friend. That are my dreams and If I had an opportunity to choose my future life I would like to take this one.

I sincerely do not know wherever I will still be alive by then, and who I will be. But I know one thing for sure - I want to have lived my life to the fullest by then, and I can only achieve that by living my life now.

Firstly, I am from Estonia, Tallinn. I am 17 years old and study at school in the 11th form. I can communicate with people in Russian, Estonian and English. I have not ever had this kind of experience, but I want to try. I like meeting new people and I enjoy working with them. 

One more reason I am applinig for the job is the working experience. I am thinkig to study in the Univercity of Hotel Buisness, so this is by far the best opportunity for me. I have not any problems with the comunication and I want to try something new and usefull.

Education in Estonia

  Nowdays education is one of the most important things in our life. You need it to have a success in future.
Do you want to be a doctor or a teacher, pilot or writer, you have to study.
   In our country we have subject-centered curriculum. It means that we study all subjects and when we will be grown-up we can choose the best specialization.
   But really I have observed that the teacher's role is no longer simply to feed information to students. Facts are available in libraries, on CD ROMs and in the Internet. What sudents need are skills to find this information. In our school we have many lessons where the teachers are helpers, not the masters. It teachs us to understand that our future, which depends on our education, is only in our hands.
   If we had student-centered curriculum, we would know only that subjects, that we chose. In one way it is rather good, because we listen only that lessens, which we will need in our future job and do not spend time on unnecessary ones. But if in the future I will need the others?
   So, I think, that Estonia has the right way of education.
